Description

This course provides an in-depth exploration of governance and its critical role in strengthening health systems and shaping public health policy. Using the policy management cycle as a framework, the course covers priority setting, goal establishment, policy adoption, budgeting, implementation, and evaluation. Participants will learn how health governance contributes to addressing complex global challenges, fostering equity, and advancing sustainable development. Emphasis is placed on whole-of-government and whole-of-society approaches, intersectoral collaboration, and the integration of health as a macroeconomic and societal priority. The course also examines governance structures, health system performance, and the impact of international agreements and organizations on public health.
