Public Health Tools and Techniques in Challenging Conditions

Disasters and emergencies are extraordinary situations that require the use of special strategies to manage them. The complex emergency profile necessitates the existence of competent systems that are capable of managing these emergencies by using a scientific, evidence-based approach that is based on the local context and yet enlightened by international experiences.

This course will assist participants in applying different public health tools and techniques during challenging conditions. It will enhance the capacity of the participants to effectively and efficiently respond to public health emergencies by using suitable public health tools and techniques.

1. Effectively handle data in the acute phase of emergencies from collection to dissemination
2. Conduct rapid health needs assessment in challenging conditions
3. Develop evidence-based emergency response plans
4. Use negotiation and conflict resolution skills to facilitate implementation
