The International Academy of Public Health (IAPH) and the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) Sign a Memorandum of Understanding
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, the International Academy of Public Health (IAPH) and the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This memorandum aims to foster partnership and cooperation, focusing on supporting health systems and public health initiatives. The overarching objective is to enhance the health of individuals in Jordan and the broader region, aligning with ongoing scientific and practical advancements in the field.
The MoU was signed by the President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Prof. Khaled Al-Salem, and the Executive Director of the International Academy of Public Health (IAPH), Dr. Mohammad Al-Tarawneh.
Dr. Al-Tarawneh emphasized the significance of signing this memorandum, expressing full confidence in this collaboration. He highlighted that this step marks the commencement of joint work, aiming to leave a distinctive impact on students and researchers by enhancing their capabilities and consequently bringing about effective change in the field of public health.
Dr. Al-Tarawneh further added that this agreement reflects IAPH’s complete commitment to quality training and scientific research geared towards achieving the well-being of society in the realm of healthcare.
The signed MoU outlines a comprehensive scope of cooperation between IAPH and JUST. The agreed-upon areas of collaboration encompass training and building the capabilities of human cadres in the public health sector. Within this cooperation, both parties are committed to providing consultations to support health initiatives and elevating the capabilities of health systems and their workers.
Additionally, the collaboration extends to conducting studies and research aimed at advancing public health and health services and submitting proposals for different opportunities. Other facets of collaboration include joint support for agreed-upon activities and projects, the exchange of students between the university and trainees at IAPH, organizing conferences and seminars related to various health fields, holding specialized training workshops in the field of public health, and providing technical support when needed for any agreed-upon activities.
