On April 2, 2024, the International Academy of Public Health (IAPH) signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Company for Employment and Training (NCET), and also signed an addendum to the memorandum regarding the establishment of a training facility in the field of health and occupational safety at the National Company for Employment and Training complex in Aqaba City. Dr. Mohammed Al-Tarawneh, the Executive Director of the Academy, signed on behalf of the Academy, and Colonel Nawaf Al-Sarhan, the General Manager of the National Company for Training and Employment, signed on behalf of the company. This signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohannad Al Nsour, the Chairman of IAPH’s Board of Directors, and Mr. Majed Habbashneh, the Director of the company. The signing of this memorandum and its annex reflects IAPH’s commitment to establishing and sustaining occupational health and safety programs, which are crucial for maintaining the health of workers in the workplace. IAPH also aims to solidify the partnership between the public and private sectors for its positive impact on performance quality, productivity, and support for the economy. IAPH has decided to strategically focus its occupational health and safety efforts on starting in Aqaba and southern Jordan due to the importance and specificity of this region in Jordanian industry and trade. Based on this strategic direction, a qualitative coalition has been launched with the National Company for Employment and Training, which is managed by the Jordanian Armed Forces, to commence our joint journey by establishing an occupational health and safety training facility at the main complex of the National Company for Employment and Training in Aqaba. This aims to enhance and build the capacities of professionals through continuous training programs, as well as leadership and management programs in various specialties. In line with the coalition's action plan, we seek to build strategic partnerships with relevant institutions to expand the scope of operations and accelerate the implementation process to advance partnership programs with these institutions, aiming to invest in readiness, preparedness, cooperation, and initiation of executive procedures.
