MOU Agreement with Association of Arab Universities

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed Today between the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) and the International Academy of Public Health - IAPH, which is empowered by the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET).

The MoU was signed by the Secretary-General of AARU, Dr. Amr Ezzat Salameh, and the Executive Director of EMPHNET, Dr. Mohannad Al-Nsour, on behalf of IAPH. The Assistant Secretary-Generals of AARU, Dr. Khamisi Hamidi and Dr. Abdel Rahim Al-Hunaiti, attended the singing of the MoU.

The signed MoU includes a number of main clauses to enhance cooperation between the AARU and IAPH in training, conferences and seminars related to public health. Dr. Salameh welcomed this cooperation and coordination with IAPH to serve university hospitals, and faculties of medicine, pharmacy, nursing, allied medical professions and all stakeholders in Arab universities.

Dr. Al-Nsour proposed providing online courses for health professional in university hospitals of the Arab universities, including medical doctors and nurses, to protect them from infection, during the response to the pandemic that the world is experiencing in light of COVID-19. Dr. Al-Nsour also added that these courses are of high quality, and will be delivered in both Arabic and English and free of charge for the relevant health professionals.
