IAPH Supports Mutah University in Leadership and Strategic Training

The International Academy of Public Health (IAPH) has partnered with Mutah University in Jordan to support 16 staff members to enroll in two key courses: Effective Training and Strategic Planning and Leadership and Management. This collaboration is part of a pilot initiative aimed at enhancing professional development and leadership capacities within the university.
IAPH selected Mutah University as its partner in this endeavor due to the latter’s strong commitment to advancing educational opportunities for its staff. The university’s openness to exploring innovative learning pathways made it an ideal partner for a potential long-term collaboration focused on building public health and leadership capacities in the region.
Mutah University selected 16 participants for this training opportunity, ensuring the courses were tailored to their needs. The chosen programs—Effective Training and Strategic Planning and Leadership and Management—align with the critical skills required for leadership roles, helping participants strengthen their ability to strategically plan, lead teams, and implement impactful training initiatives.
These courses equip learners with practical skills in decision-making, team leadership, and strategic planning, enabling them to apply their knowledge in real-world professional settings. Participants will put these skills into practice by mentoring others, addressing performance gaps through adaptable training methods, and developing structured training outlines that target knowledge, skills, and attitude needs.
Additionally, they will strengthen capacity-building efforts by selecting appropriate training methods tailored to diverse learning styles and implementing effective monitoring and evaluation tools to enhance training outcomes. This initiative is expected to foster stronger leadership within the university and beyond.
While this initiative is currently in its pilot phase, IAPH is exploring opportunities for further collaboration with Mutah University and potentially expanding similar partnerships with other institutions.
Chairperson of the Scientific Council at IAPH, Dr. Yousef Khader emphasized the importance of such initiatives:
"At IAPH, we are committed to fostering leadership and strategic thinking. Partnering with institutions like Mutah University allows us to empower professionals with the skills they need to create lasting impact in their fields."
Through this collaboration, IAPH and Mutah University reaffirm their shared vision of enhancing leadership capacities, equipping professionals with the tools they need to drive meaningful change in public health and beyond.
