November 03, 2025

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen primary health care services in Jordan, the International Academy of Public Health (IAPH), in collaboration with Himmetna Health Jo, held a three-day Family Health Team (FHT) workshop at the Crown Prince Foundation Office in Karak, south of Jordan.

Held between October 12 and 14, 2025, the workshop was designed to enhance the skills of healthcare providers from hospitals and health centers in the Ghour Al-Mazraa area, contributing to the improvement of family health services provided in the southern regions of the Kingdom.

On the first and second days of the workshop, two groups of professionals from the Ghour Al-Mazraa area were introduced to primary health care principles, patient-centered care, and documentation and data management. They also learned more about health promotion, the epidemiology of non-communicable and communicable diseases, and surveillance.

The third day of the workshop featured a leadership and management session tailored to benefit mid- and senior-level health professionals. Specifically, it focused on leadership, resource management, and communication skills.

IAPH’s Executive Director, Dr. Yousef Khader, affirmed the importance of such collaborations. He said, “At IAPH, we are committed to strengthening health workforce capacities. For us, partnerships with institutions like Himmetna Health Jo allow us to empower professionals with the skills they need to create lasting impact in their respective fields.”

Through this collaboration, IAPH and Himmetna Health Jo reaffirmed their shared vision of enhancing health workforce capacities in Jordan, a goal they collectively pursue by providing healthcare professionals with the skills they need to drive meaningful change in public health practice.

The three-day event’s agenda included interactive presentations, group discussions, and practical exercises, offering participants an opportunity to enhance their understanding of family health protocols while strengthening their management and leadership skills. This workshop served as a prelude to delivering higher-quality, patient-centered health services in Ghour Al-Mazraa.
