IAPH and ANU Launch a Professional Diploma Program in Environmental Health

IAPH has officially launched a new professional diploma program in Environmental Health, with registration now open for an August start. Targeted at public health professionals and individuals seeking to advance their careers in environmental health, this program is set to meet the growing demand for specialized training in the field. 

This diploma program is the result of a strategic collaboration between IAPH and Ajloun National University, following a memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties earlier this year. The agreement aims to exchange expertise and provide rich educational resources to enhance public health practices and research across various disciplines. This program marks the first joint collaboration between the two institutions and is designed to respond to the growing environmental needs in Jordan and other countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR). Significantly, it is the first program of its kind to be offered in Jordan.

The professional diploma in environmental health spans nine months and is a flexible, self-paced learning program that includes both online and in-person sessions. It consists of three levels (Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced), each lasting three months.

Each level includes five theoretical courses and one practical training, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in both the practical and research aspects of environmental health. Graduates of the program will receive a certificate accredited by the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation (APHEA) and the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education. They will gain valuable skills to help identify, prevent, control, and manage environmental risks, as well as conduct impactful research in environmental health.

Ajloun National University is a private Jordanian university established in 2008 and accredited in 2009. It is a member of the Association of Arab Universities and a part of many prestigious Arab and international organizations. The International Academy of Public Health (IAPH) is an educational institution specializing in professional, practice-based public health education and training.
