Dr. Heitham Awadalla

Dr. Heitham Awadalla is a public health Consultant specialized in Health System management and healthcare quality. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Khartoum in 2001
Dr. Awadalla has experience of more than fifteen years in the public health field through his working in different positions in the MoH and hospitals. He has a doctorate in community medicine, master’s degree in public health from Malaysia and another specialized master in hospital management from the University of Leeds in the UK. Also, he has other qualifications in leadership and healthcare quality from different international universities. Awadalla is an ISQua fellow since 2017, and for his achievements has been awarded an FFPH through distinction from the Royal College in the UK.
Dr. Awadalla has good research experience in both teaching and conducting research. He was honored in 2012 for winning the prize of the Board of Medical Specialization for the best research (the highest scientific award for medical doctorate given to doctors ’specialists in Sudan).
During the last ten years, Dr. Awadalla is working with the FMOH in leading positions as DG for the quality Directorate and DG for the Curative Medicine Directorate. Dr. Awadalla has more than thirty publications and a number of scientific participations in international conferences.
In addition, Awadalla has rich experience in project management as an educator and implementer. He had several courses in PMDP, complex PM, and partnering. During the period 2016-2019 he had led the SALI project (Save A Life Initiative) which its mandate is to use the SALI Model to enable CSOs, NGOs, and institutes to provide high quality, sustainable and evidence-based core public services at fragile communities around the world.
